Botswana: GBV Survivors Centre for Sepopa

Gaborone — Government has approved a one-stop centre for

Gender-based violence (GBV) survivors in Sepopa in the Okavango District.

The Okavango District Council (ODC) deputy chairperson, Mr Brian Samoka made the remarks when opening the ongoing full council meeting on May 25.

Mr Samoka said land had already been secured for the project.

He said the facility would complement efforts made by the district in the fight against GBV and women empowerment.

The deputy chairperson said there were programmes in place aimed for empowerment of women entrepreneurs through climate smart agriculture and enterprise development programmes implemented in partnership with development partner.
