Uganda: UBA Celebrates Africa Day With Vibrant Cultural Showcase Across All Ugandan Branches

UBA Uganda joined the rest of the continent in commemorating Africa Day with colourful celebrations held at its head office and branches across the country, reaffirming the bank's pan-African identity and commitment to promoting African heritage, unity, and diversity.

The celebrations brought together staff, management, and board members, all dressed in authentic African attire inspired by Uganda's cultural traditions and the diverse heritage of the African continent. The event created a vibrant atmosphere marked by cultural pride, togetherness, and a shared African identity.

Observed annually on May 25, Africa Day marks the founding of the Organisation of African Unity, now the African Union. The day serves as a reflection on Africa's journey, achievements, and aspirations for unity, freedom, and sustainable development.

The celebrations were attended by the Chairman of the Board of Directors at UBA Uganda, Mustapha Sebaggala Kigozi, members of the board, senior management, and staff.

He added that through innovation, excellence, and collaboration, the bank continues to contribute to Africa's economic transformation.

He said the celebration highlights Africa's strength, resilience, diversity, and growing influence on the global stage.

As part of the festivities, staff participated in cultural showcases, fashion presentations, and interactive engagement activities, including group photography sessions to capture memories from the occasion.

UBA operates in 20 African countries, with additional global presence in New York, London, Paris, and Dubai. The bank says it remains committed to championing African excellence, innovation, inclusion, and economic growth across the continent and beyond.

The bank also noted that commemorating Africa Day across all its subsidiaries serves as a reminder of Africa's journey, its current progress, and its vision for a stronger and more united future.
