The newly elected leadership of Kiboga District has officially taken office, with pledges to improve service delivery, strengthen accountability, and accelerate development across key sectors including health, education, and infrastructure.
The swearing-in ceremony, held before Kiboga Chief Magistrate Jane Francis Nanvuma, saw District Chairperson Nsiiro Kalunda and newly elected district councillors formally assume office for a new five-year term.
In his remarks after taking the oath, Kalunda outlined his administration's priorities, saying the district would focus on addressing gaps in healthcare delivery, improving education services, and advocating for better road networks to support socio-economic development.
"My priority is to ensure that the people of Kiboga receive quality services. We shall work hard to improve healthcare, strengthen education services, and advocate for better roads to support socio-economic development," he said.

He stressed the importance of coordination between political leaders, technical staff, and communities, adding that his leadership would emphasise transparency and accountability in the use of public resources.
The newly sworn-in councillors also pledged to represent their constituents effectively and ensure that public resources are used for their intended purposes. Eria Ssekandi, one of the councillors, said they would remain focused on delivering development outcomes for residents.
"We were elected to serve the people, and we shall remain committed to promoting development and ensuring that the voices of our communities are heard," he said.
The leadership collectively vowed to take a hard stance against corruption, warning that individuals involved in misuse of public resources or abuse of office would be held accountable regardless of their position.
"We shall not tolerate corruption in any form. Anyone found involved in misuse of public resources or abuse of office will be held accountable regardless of their position," Kalunda said.
The swearing-in marks the start of a new term for the district leadership, with residents expressing expectations that the new administration will tackle persistent service delivery challenges and drive tangible development across Kiboga District.
