Thousands of residents from across Mbale District turned up at Nakaloke Grounds on Saturday, June 6, 2026, for a thanksgiving ceremony hosted by Mbale Northern Division Member of Parliament Umar Nangoli to celebrate his election to Parliament.

The event attracted a large crowd of constituents, religious leaders, politicians, security officials, and public servants who gathered to congratulate the legislator and reflect on the role of leadership in advancing community development.

The guest of honour was Shaban Ramadhan Mubajje, who urged leaders in the Bugisu region to embrace unity as a prerequisite for sustainable development. He called on Members of Parliament and other leaders to focus on improving service delivery and addressing the needs of their communities.

The Mufti also commended President Museveni for government initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods, particularly the Parish Development Model, which he said is helping to reduce poverty and empower citizens economically.
