East Africa: Azziad Becomes First Kenyan Face of Garnier in East Africa

Nairobi — Content creator and media personality Azziad Nasenya has become the first Kenyan to be appointed as the face of a Garnier product in East Africa, marking a milestone for the global beauty brand's engagement with local consumers.

The announcement was made by L'Oréal Kenya during the launch of the Garnier Even & Bright Serum Cleanser, a new skincare product that combines cleansing and brightening benefits in a single formula.

Azziad's appointment signals a growing recognition of Kenyan talent in global brand campaigns and reflects the increasing influence of local creators in shaping consumer trends across the region.

"When I was told I would be the first Kenyan face of Garnier, I was elated. Not because of what it means for me, but because of what it means for every young Kenyan girl who has ever looked at a global beauty campaign and not seen herself in it. She's there now," said Azziad.

The Garnier Even & Bright Serum Cleanser is designed to cleanse and brighten the skin simultaneously, offering consumers an alternative to traditional facial cleansing products.

According to the company, the cleanser features a gentle pH-balanced formula that helps maintain the skin's natural barrier while promoting a brighter complexion.

"When L'Oréal walked me through the science behind this product, I was genuinely amazed. The idea that my daily cleanser is actively brightening my skin at the same time is the kind of innovation that changes everything," she added.

The launch was accompanied by the "Dust ni Constant. Glow ni Choice." campaign, which highlights the challenges posed by urban pollution, dust and sun exposure while encouraging consumers to adopt skincare solutions tailored to modern lifestyles.

Speaking during the launch, L'Oréal East Africa Managing Director Marie Van Haesendonck said the company remains committed to delivering innovative and accessible skincare products for Kenyan consumers.

"This launch signifies two powerful moments--a historic Kenyan first and a product whose science is genuinely world-class at a pocket-friendly price. The Garnier Even & Bright Serum Cleanser is proof that L'Oréal is committed to delivering real innovation for Kenyan skin," she said.

The product was unveiled at an experiential event held at Emara Ole Sereni in Nairobi, bringing together beauty enthusiasts, influencers and industry stakeholders to celebrate the launch.

Industry players say the move underscores the growing importance of African representation in international beauty campaigns as global brands increasingly seek authentic connections with local markets.
