Uganda: We Shall Come for You - Police Warn School Heads Over Uneb Registration Fee Misappropriation

Police have issued a warning towards school heads on misappropriating candidates' registration fees.

Addressing journalists on Monday, Police spokesperson, Kituuma Rusoke said many school heads are fond of misappropriating the fees paid by students for UNEB registration.

"When you receive money from a candidate or potential candidate for registration, remit it to where it is supposed to go - that is UNEB .We are tired of incidents where students give you money and you misappropriate it," Rusoke warned.

"Don't eat the money. Don't misappropriate it. We shall arrest you and disorganise you."

Examination body, UNEB, extended the deadline for the normal registration of candidates for the 2026 PLE, UCE, and UACE examinations to June, 30, 2026.

This extension applies to both existing schools and newly accredited examination centers.

Speaking on Monday, the police spokesperson said some school heads are overcharging candidates but warned this is also illegal.

"We want to issue a firm warning that we are coming for you. We shall not entertain excuses. We shall throw you behind bars. It is not okay to get these young souls wanting to have their future and kill to destroy their entire year."
