Uganda: Shincheonji Church of Jesus, Busoga Kingdom Provide Free Medical Services to Over 1,000 Bugiri Residents

Shincheonji Church of Jesus, in partnership with the Busoga Kingdom, held a mega health camp at Muterere Health Centre III in Bugiri District on July 18, 2026, providing free medical services to more than 1,000 residents.

The outreach, organised under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Shincheonji Church of Jesus and the Busoga Kingdom, brought together doctors, specialists, nurses, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals who provided free medical consultations, diagnosis, treatment and health education.

The health camp also included community health screenings aimed at promoting early detection and treatment of diseases. In addition, 150 people received free prescription glasses to improve their vision and quality of life.

Speaking during the event, an instructor from Shincheonji Church of Jesus said the outreach was inspired by the teachings of Chairman Man Hee Lee, who encourages members to serve humanity through acts of love and compassion.

"We have to be someone who shares heavenly culture with the world, just as the heavens provide light, rain and air without cost. As we have also received many blessings from the physical world, we also have to give them back," the instructor said.

Martha Nambooza , the Secretary for Social Services in Bugiri District, commended Shincheonji Church of Jesus and the Busoga Kingdom for organising the outreach.

She said the initiative had brought essential healthcare services closer to the community, noting that high treatment costs and long distances to health facilities remain major barriers preventing many residents from accessing medical care.

Health professionals at the camp emphasised the importance of community health screenings in enabling early detection and treatment of diseases. They encouraged residents to embrace regular medical check-ups to improve health outcomes.

The successful outreach highlights the shared commitment of Shincheonji Church of Jesus and the Busoga Kingdom to expanding access to quality healthcare and promoting community well-being through humanitarian service.
