Uganda: Rotary Club of Kampala South to Lead Kampala South Family Mega Project in Kajjansi

The Rotary Club of Kampala South, in partnership with fellow Rotary and Rotaract Clubs, yesterday hosted the Kampala South Family Mega Project at All Saints Church of Uganda, Jjanyi-Kajjansi, starting at 9:00 a.m.

Held under the theme "Health. Community. Hope. Serving Together, Transforming Lives," the project brought together hundreds of volunteers, healthcare professionals, community leaders, corporate partners and residents for a day of service aimed at improving lives and strengthening communities. The event was graced by the presence of District Governor, Rotarian Gerald Obai, whose attendance underscored the significance of the project within the wider Rotary District 9213 community.

The Mega Project featured a range of community service activities including a free medical camp, blood donation drive, children's literacy and reading activities, environmental conservation initiatives, road safety awareness, community education sessions, and the distribution of scholastic materials. These interventions reflect Rotary's commitment to addressing critical community needs through sustainable service.

The initiative was spearheaded by the Rotary Club of Kampala South and supported by partner clubs including the Rotary Clubs of Kyambogo, Kajjansi, Kampala Maisha, Mengo Pioneers, Kampala Springs, Upper Kololo, Kampala First Aid & Emergency Response, Uptown Kampala, Environment & Climate Action and Buwaate, together with the Rotaract Clubs of Kampala South, Upper Kololo, Maisha and Kajjansi. The Club also thanks corporate partners ASA and PKF Uganda for their continued support in making the project a success. All partner clubs and organizations were present and actively involved throughout the day's activities.

Members of the media turned out in strength to cover the event, with NBS Television and New Vision among the outlets present to engage with Rotary leaders, project partners, healthcare professionals, volunteers and community beneficiaries. Coverage included interviews, photography and documentation of the various service activities taking place throughout the day.
