Kenya: Malindi Multi-Agency Raid Yields Over 1.5 Million Shillings in Cannabis

Nairobi — A targeted security operation in Kilifi County resulted in the arrest of two suspects and the seizure of illicit drugs valued at more than KSh 1.5 million.

Acting on actionable intelligence, a multi-agency security team conducted an early raid at Divayo village in Malindi Sub-County.

During the operation, officers uprooted 43 kilograms of growing cannabis sativa plants.

The team also confiscated 8.5 kilograms of harvested cannabis alongside six individual rolls.

The combined operations brought the total recovery to 51.6 kilograms, carrying an estimated street market value of KSh 1,548,000.

All recovered items are currently secured as court exhibits at Langobaya Police Station,and the two suspects remain in custody pending formal arraignment to face drug-related charges.
