Uganda: Museveni in Tanzania for Two-Day Working Visit

President Museveni has arrived in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, for a two-day working visit at the invitation of his counterpart, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan.

Upon arrival at Julius Nyerere International Airport, Museveni was received by Tanzania's Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo (MP), Uganda's High Commissioner to Tanzania, Col. Fred Mwesigye, and other senior government officials.

The President inspected a silent guard of honour mounted in his honour before being treated to a colourful cultural dance performance.

He was later escorted by Ambassador Kombo to the Presidential Lounge before proceeding to his official residence in Dar es Salaam.

At Entebbe International Airport, President Museveni was seen off by Vice President Jessica Alupo, Minister for the Presidency Milly Babalanda, and the Head of Public Service and Secretary to the Cabinet, Lucy Nakyobe.

The visit follows an invitation from President Samia Suluhu Hassan and is expected to further strengthen the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Uganda and Tanzania.

During the two-day visit, the two Heads of State are expected to hold high-level bilateral talks on issues of mutual interest, including strengthening bilateral cooperation, promoting regional integration within the East African Community (EAC), expanding trade and investment, advancing infrastructure development, enhancing peace and security, and exploring other areas aimed at deepening the strategic partnership between the two neighbouring countries.
