Uganda and Türkiye have stepped up efforts to deepen bilateral cooperation, with a renewed focus on trade, investment, health, science and innovation partnerships.
The commitment was reached during a working visit by Uganda's Ambassador to Türkiye, Ambassador Nusura Tiperu, to Ambassador Henry Mayega, Head of International Economic Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Kampala.
The meeting focused on reviewing progress in Uganda-Türkiye relations and strengthening coordination between the ministry headquarters and Uganda's embassy in Ankara.
"We met to take stock of where we are and to ensure that our engagements in Ankara are fully aligned with Kampala's priorities. Strong coordination is key to delivering stronger diplomacy and real results for Ugandans," Ambassador Tiperu said.

The discussions centred on four key areas: fast-tracking pending bilateral agreements, improving institutional coordination, advancing trade and investment diplomacy, and preparing for two major upcoming engagements between the two countries.
The diplomats reviewed preparations for the Uganda-Türkiye-Gulf States Trade and Investment Summit and the Uganda-Türkiye Health, Science, Technology and Innovation Summit.
The two meetings are expected to bring together government officials, private sector players and investors to explore opportunities for investment, industrial development and knowledge exchange.
"These summits are a platform to position Uganda as an investment destination and to leverage Türkiye's expertise in manufacturing, health and technology. We need to move from dialogue to deals," Ambassador Mayega said.
The ambassadors also reviewed existing cooperation frameworks and identified challenges affecting the signing and implementation of several bilateral agreements.
Ambassador Tiperu said the priority is to ensure that diplomatic engagements produce measurable benefits for Ugandans.
"Our goal is to translate diplomacy into measurable outcomes. That means stronger partnerships, effective coordination between the Embassy and the Ministry, and sustainable economic cooperation that creates jobs and expands markets," she said.
Ambassador Mayega reaffirmed the ministry's commitment to supporting Uganda's mission in Ankara as part of efforts to advance the country's economic diplomacy agenda.

"The Headquarters and Missions must work as one team. We are committed to providing the policy guidance and support needed to ensure Uganda gets maximum benefit from our partnership with Türkiye," he said.
Uganda and Türkiye have in recent years expanded cooperation in areas including defence, trade, education and health.
Officials say the latest push is aimed at transforming diplomatic relations into increased investment flows, expanded markets and greater export opportunities for Ugandan products.
The two ambassadors agreed to establish regular coordination mechanisms to monitor implementation of agreed actions and ensure effective follow-up ahead of the planned summits later this year.
