Morocco: Royal Air Maroc Strengthens European Presence With New Routes, French Media Reports

Paris — Royal Air Maroc's launch of new European routes reinforces the national carrier's expansion strategy on the continent and significantly strengthens its market presence, according to specialized industry website "BusinessTravel.fr."

The Moroccan airline has expanded its European network in recent weeks with the launch of several new routes. These include a direct link between Lille and Casablanca, inaugurated on July 3, as well as new services to Bilbao, Alicante, and Verona.

The new Lille-Casablanca route operates bi-weekly, on Mondays and Fridays. It serves the large Moroccan community residing in northern France while offering connections via the Casablanca hub to several destinations across Morocco and Africa, including Agadir, Dakhla, Abidjan, Cotonou, Bamako, Douala, Libreville, and Niamey, the specialized publication notes.

With this new service, Royal Air Maroc continues to expand its footprint in France, where it already serves Nantes, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Marseille, Nice, and Lyon, alongside Brussels in Belgium and Geneva in Switzerland.

The European expansion also includes Verona--the airline's eighth Italian destination after Rome, Milan, Bologna, Naples, Catania, Turin, and Venice--and Bilbao, its ninth destination in Spain following Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Alicante, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Malaga, and Seville.

According to "BusinessTravel.fr," these new routes bring the total number of weekly flights operated by Royal Air Maroc between Europe and its broader network to nearly 430, enshrining the carrier's position in the European market.

The website added that this growth further reinforces Casablanca's role as a strategic hub connecting Europe to Africa, backed by an international network of 81 destinations that cements Royal Air Maroc's role as a major player in air travel between the two continents.
