Acorns Group of International Schools has marked a major milestone as it celebrated 30 years of providing quality international education, bringing together distinguished dignitaries, education leaders, partners, parents, staff, alumni, students and members of the wider Acorns community.
The celebration, held at the Acorns Kisaasi Campus, was a moment to reflect on three decades of growth, achievements and impact, while looking ahead to a new chapter in the institution's journey.
What began in 1996 as a single preschool in Kisaasi has grown into a regional education group with campuses in Kisaasi, Bunga, Lubowa and Kigali, Rwanda. Over the past three decades, Acorns has continued to expand its programmes and reach, guided by its commitment to providing high-quality international education.
A major highlight of the celebration was the announcement of the proposed Acorns International University, unveiled by Mr Parvez Lalani as the next chapter in Acorns' 30-year journey.

With ambition to officially launch next academic year, the university project is at development stage and its establishment will be subject to the approval of the National Council for Higher Education.
Speaking during the celebration, Mr Lalani outlined the vision behind the proposed university and the opportunities it is intended to create for students seeking quality higher education, here in Uganda.
Ms Ameena Lalani, Chief Executive Officer of Acorns Group of International Schools, said the proposal represents a natural progression of the institution's journey.
"After 30 years, we have learned that no dream is too big. We have made a significant contribution to primary and secondary education, and now our focus is on higher education. We want to provide internationally recognised programmes here at home so that more students can access world-class education without leaving the country."
The announcement was met with excitement from members of the Acorns community and guests who gathered to commemorate the institution's 30-year journey. The celebration was therefore not only about looking back at the journey that began in 1996, but also about looking ahead.
Acorns Group of International Schools Board Chair, Mr Adnan Jasani, described the proposed university as the next chapter in the institution's growth.
"Our goal is to provide high-quality education that prepares students for the future while keeping tuition affordable. We are committed to maintaining internationally recognised academic standards and ensuring that quality education remains accessible to more learners," Mr Jasani said.
