Angola: Bodiva Trades Over 820 Million Kwanzas

Luanda — The Angola Securities Exchange (BODIVA) traded a total value exceeding 820.6 million kwanzas this Thursday (10), through a total of 290 business transactions involving 14,543 securities.

The session's data indicate an overall gain of 0.25 percent, on a day marked by the positive performance of UNITEL company shares, which recorded the largest rise among the traded securities.

The shares of the mobile phone operator UNITEL rose 3.45 percent to 30,000 kwanzas, accounting for 172 transactions involving 8,137 shares and a total value of 235.6 million kwanzas.

UNITEL's performance occurred against a backdrop of more moderate movement for other securities, with three assets closing the session with no change in price.

BAI bank remained at 90,500 kwanzas--showing no percentage change--with 18 transactions involving 1,439 shares and a total value of 128.8 million kwanzas. Similarly, Caixa Geral de Angola (CGA) bank closed the session at 19,300 kwanzas, also unchanged, with 28 transactions involving 128 shares and a total value of 2.5 million kwanzas.

ENSA (insurance) shares also remained stable, quoted at 24,000 kwanzas, following 31 transactions involving 386 shares worth approximately 9.2 million kwanzas. Among the decliners, BFA bank stood out, with its shares falling 2.00 percent to 98,000 kwanzas.

The stock recorded 28 trades involving 4,421 shares, totaling 442 million kwanzas--the highest individual financial value of the session. BODIVA, meanwhile, closed the session down 1.20 percent at 82,000 kwanzas, recording 13 trades and 32 shares exchanged, with a total value of approximately 2.6 million kwanzas.

UNITEL leads in number of transactions, standing out as the most traded stock of the session with 172 trades, representing about 59 percent of total operations in the equity market. BFA, on the other hand, recorded the highest individual financial value traded--442 million kwanzas--followed by UNITEL with 235.6 million and BAI with 128.8 million kwanzas. Overall, the six traded securities generated a total value of 820,641,892.50 kwanzas across 290 trades involving 14,543 securities.

This Thursday's session thus confirms the ongoing divergence in performance among listed stocks: UNITEL took the lead in terms of price appreciation and number of transactions, while BFA stood out for the financial volume traded, despite downward pressure on its share price.
