Nairobi — The Policyholders Compensation Fund (PCF) has extended the suspension of payments by Corporate Insurance Company, Trident Insurance Company and KUSCCO Mutual Assurance Company for another two months.

The extension took effect on September 10, 2026, and covers payments to policyholders, claimants and other creditors of the three insurers.

The three companies have been under statutory management since March, with the PCF appointed to manage their affairs.

"The PCF hereby extends the Moratorium ... on payments by the said insurer to its policyholders and all other creditors for a further period of two (2) months, effective from 10th September 2026," the Fund said in notices for the three companies.

The extension follows a decision by the Commissioner of Insurance to retain the PCF as statutory manager while extending the management period.

The Insurance Regulatory Authority placed the three insurers under statutory management in March after their financial positions deteriorated and they failed to meet mandatory solvency requirements.

The PCF is assessing their financial positions, liabilities, claims and other outstanding obligations.
