U.S. Envoy Says South Sudan Will Be Ready to Vote

President Barack Obama's envoy to Sudan, General Scott Gration, says the logistics are in place to hold the referendum on the south's independence on time, on January 9. Newly returned from a trip to Sudan, he also told journalists the U.S. was appealing for an immediate ceasefire in Darfur, and for all parties to join peace talks under way in Doha.
