Liberia Opposition Leader Faces Justice Ministry Investigation

A controversial consultancy deal between opposition candidate George Weah and Dr. Alan W. White, a former chief investigator for the United Nations Special Court for Sierra Leone, has led to the country's Justice Ministry launching an investigation. First reported last month by AllAfrica - and denied by White - the consultancy is being viewed as an indicator of desperation tactics by candidates that could prove dangerously incendiary in a country still recovering from 25 years of political conflict and civil war.
