U.S. Extends Sanctions Against Sudan

The Sudanese government has reacted angrily to the decision by U.S. President Barack Obama to renew comprehensive economic sanctions that have been in place for 14 years.

The UN provides water to the displaced in south Darfur. Sanctions against Sudan have been renewed, apparently as part of efforts to stop the violence in Darfur.
