Kenya Broadcasting Workers' Strike Intensifies

The government has given striking broadcasting corporation workers an ultimatum - saying if they do not return to work immediately, they will be fired. Workers say one of the reasons for their strike is government's failure to implement a 500 percent pay increase.

KBC employees at the corporation's premises have vowed to continue striking until their demands are met. Broadcast operations remained paralysed at the State broadcaster, with the TV station and Radio not airing news bulletins.
