S African Learners Bear the Brunt of Teachers' Strike

Hundreds of school children, especially in poorer areas, have been left to fend for themselves as teachers continue to protest for better wages , working conditions and theresignation of Basic Education minister Angie Motshekga and her Director General Bobby Soobrayan. Federation of trade unions Cosatu has threatened more strike action  if President Jacob Zuma does not comply with the teachers' union demands and respond to a memorandum in 21 days.
