South African Police Suspected of Misleading Marikana Inquiry

The lawyers appointed to lead evidence for the government-appointed commission of inquiry into the killing of South African miners at Marikana in North-West Province last year say an examination of police computers has revealed evidence police said did not exist, other evidence which should have been handed to them and documents which appear to have been constructed and backdated. Police have yet to tell their side of the story.
