The statue of Cecil John Rhodes has been removed from the University of Cape Town campus after weeks of debate, protest and demonstrations. Students celebrated where the statue once stood.
After weeks of debate, protest and demonstration, a removal crew overseen by a heritage architect appeared at the University of Cape Town to effect the temporary removal of the statue of Cecil John Rhodes that sits between the university’s upper and lower campuses.
