Partnership, Commitment and Flexibility in Addis Ababa and Beyond
A conference on how to finance the United Nations' new, ambitious global development agenda is now under way in Addis Ababa. The 190 nations attending hope to agree on how to bankroll 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which include ending poverty and hunger, combating climate change and achieving gender equality by 2030.
During the UN Conference on Financing for Development (FfD3) the International Monetaryt Fund espoused its commitment to continue support for developing and fragile countries. In an address, Min Zhu, Deputy Managing Director, International Monetary Fund, explained that to move further ahead with inclusive growth we must be united and guided by three key principles: partnership, commitment and flexibility.
