Region Renews Bid to Mediate End to Burundi Crisis
President Yoweri Museveni is making a renewed effort to intervene in Burundi on behalf of the East African Community. International efforts have so far failed to end the crisis brought about by President Pierre Nkurunziza's bid for a third term and the strong opposition he has encountered.
President Pierre Nkurunziza celebrated the 53rd anniversary of the independence of Burundi at Prince Louis Rwagasore stadium.
