Burundi Police Begin House Searches Amid Massacre Warnings

An international outcry is building amid a deteriorating security situation in Burundi. The government is being condemned over apparent summary executions and residents are fleeing suburbs seen as opposition strongholds in Bujumbura in fear of a crackdown. The United States' top envoy to the region has flown into Bujumbura after a member of President Barack Obama's Cabinet voiced fears of a new genocide in the country.
