Japan's Conference on African Development Comes to Nairobi
To demonstrate its strong African ownership and the deepening partnership among its stakeholders, the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) for the first time since its inception in 1993 will be held in Africa. An African Development Bank (AfDB) Group delegation led by the Bank President, Akinwumi Adesina, will attend TICAD VI in Nairobi from August 27-28, 2016. Read more. Co-organised by the Government of Japan, the United Nations Office of the Special Advisor on Africa (UN-OSAA), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), African Union Commission (AUC) and the World Bank, the Sixth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD VI) will bring together over 6,000 participants, including representatives of African countries, international organizations and civil society.
