South Africa: Johannesburg Hit by Deadly Floods During Rush Hour

Several deaths have been confirmed following flash floods in Johannesburg and Ekurhuleni that submerged traffic and swept dozens of vehicles away.

About 150 cars, stretching over two kilometres of highway, were affected.

Approximately 10 cars were pushed off the highway and down an embankment, some were found completely submerged in the river below.

Commuters and pedestrians formed a chain to assist those trapped in their cars.
