Former Somali Refugee Makes History in U.S. Elections

Ilhan Omar, 34, a former refugee, won the Minnesota race unopposed after defeating the incumbent Phyllis Kahn in the primary.

Somali-American Ilhan Omar has been declared the winner in the race for State Representative in District 60B in the U.S. elections.
