High-Stakes Vote as WHO Chooses Leader
The new director-general of the World Health Organization will determine the future of the UN body that missed the 2014 Ebola epidemic till it raged out of control but which must protect the world from tomorrow's threats. They include pandemics, diseases that resist all known antibiotics, the growing health toll of climate change and the scourge of problems that plague - and destabilize - the planet's poor.
