Information Minister's Powers to Ban Tanzanian Newspaper Queried
Minister for Information Harrison Mwakyembe has imposed a two-year ban on weekly newspaper Mawio. The paper published a story linking former presidents Benjamin Mkapa and Jakaya Kikwete with the mineral concentrates dispute, detailing the two leaders' alleged role in the problems bedevilling the mining sector.
