Thokozani Magwaza's resignation as social grants chief - on the back of death threats - has been confirmed by Social Development Minister Bathabile Dlamini. Magwaza has largely been blamed for the social grants pay-out system which was supposed to be reviewed and granted to a new firm this year. The inability to find a new paymaster has meant that the current NET1 firm remains, despite allegations of corruption and mismanagement.
