Violence Mars ANC Provincial Elective Conference in South Africa

Newly elected provincial chair Oscar Mabuyane has said that High Court Judge Belinda Hartley's decision to strike an application to interdict the Eastern Cape ANC's elective conference off the roll was an entirely academic exercise. This comes after eight delegates were injured when violence broke out at the conference with members throwing chairs at each other.

Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa speaks at the ANC's 8th provincial conference in the Eastern Cape.
