South African Grants Payment Deal Hanging In Balance - Again?

The South African Post Office was made an offer by the South African Social Security Agency to assist with the monthly social grant payments to over 18 million South Africans after it was established that the department's awarding of a contract to the previous company NET1 was illegal. Of the four services requested during the tender process, the post office was only granted the right to provide an intergrated payment system that can also handle beneficiaries biometric data.
