Tunisian Start-Up Pioneers Bladeless Wind Turbine Technology
Saphon Energy aims to bring bladeless wind power technology to a mainstream consumer audience. The Saphonian sail-shaped body is capable of capturing twice as much wind kinetic energy as a three-blade turbine for the same swept area. It is also 45% cheaper than bladed turbines, according to Saphon Energy co-founder Hassine Labaied.
