Tanzanian Ruling Party MP Defects to Opposition

Singida North Member of Parliament Lazaro Nyalandu has tendered his resignation from the ruling party Chama Cha Mapinduzi and crossed over to the opposition Chadema party. The MP said he was leaving CCM because of the party's failure to "supervise the government" and because of human rights violations.
