For as far back as anyone can remember, Migingo was nothing more than an uninhabited pinprick on Lake Victoria. Now it is the centre of a cross-border dispute which tells us a lot about international law, writes Chrisopher Rossi in The Conversation.
Migingo Island lies in both Uganda and Kenya waters and this has created disputes regarding its ownership.
