Chimurenga musician Thomas "Mukanya" Mapfumo and jazz legend Oliver Mtukudzi were part of a band called Wagon Wheels in the late 70s when the two parted ways and pursued solo careers. This fuelled stories of how they were sworn enemies who could never share a stage. Perhaps the only glimpse of friendship for those wishing cordial relations between the two should be that they are now at an advanced age and that the "beef", if any, should be the least of their concerns, writes Kennedy Nyavaya of The Standard.
