Nigerian Bishop Who Was Defended by Pope Francis Resigns

The Vatican has announced that the Pope has accepted the resignation of Bishop Peter Ebere Okpaleke of the diocese of Ahiara, who was appointed in December 2012. He was prevented by local clergy from taking up his role there because priests and people in the diocese insisted that their bishop must be from their clan.
