Ugandan MP Apologises for Wife-Beating Remarks

MP Onesimas Twinamatsiko - whose recent utterances in support of men who beat their wives - has apologised. He said in a statement that the comments had "caused public unease and angered many people" and begged to retract them. "...With the greatest humility I take this opportunity to withdraw altogether the unfortunate statement," he said.
