Tight Security at Campaign Rallies for Ugandan By-Election

Ruling party and opposition supporters have taken to the streets in Jinja ahead of a by-election which has brought out the big guns of Ugandan politics. President Yoweri Museveni is campaigning for NRM candidate Nathan Igeme Nabeta, while former presidential candidate Kizza Besigye is supporting FDC candidate Paul Mwiru. The seat became vacant after the Court of Appeal in Kampala nullified Nabeta's February 2016 victory.
