In 2015, Nigerian business mogul Tony Elumelu of the Tony Elumelu Foundation, commited to identifying, training, mentoring and funding 10,000 African entrepreneurs in 10 years. In 2018 more than 150,000 applicants from 114 African countries applied to join the 4th cycle of the Tony Elumelu Foundation's U.S.$100 Million programme where 1,000 successful applicants with high business growth potential were selected.
