Dowries Reduce Women to Property - Former Ugandan Prime Minister

Former Uganda prime minister and presidential contestant Amama Mbabazi has said that the practice of parents demanding for dowry in exchange for their daughters dehumanises women, Nairobi News reports. Mbabazi hosted hosted Andile Ramaphosa, the son of South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, in Kampala at a traditional ceremony where the younger Ramaphosa officially declared his intentions to marry Mbabazi's niece, Bridget Birungi Rwakairu.
