Mugabe-Backed Party Fires Leader As Elections Draw Near

Zimbabwean political party the National Patriotic Front which is aligned to former president Robert Mugabe has fired Ambrose Mutinhiri as its leader, less that two months before the July 30 general elections. The opposition party, made up of disgruntled former ruling party officials who were fired after Mugabe's resignation, has reportedly appointed Eunice Sandi Moyo, a former Zanu-PF official as its new acting president.
