Corruption Behind South African Cash-In-Transit Heist Crime Wave?

Defence Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula has revealed that an R4 rifle from the South African National Defence Force was used during a cash-in-transit heist. This comes after Johan Burger from the Institute for Security Studies wrote that arrests and prosecutions of officials tied to cash-in-transit heists should be announced publicly "as a warning to others who may consider taking bribes" that facilitate the robberies.
