Was War Hero Tongogara Murdered For Speaking Against Mugabe?

The late celebrated liberation war commander Josiah Tongogara was killed by people linked to former president Robert Mugabe for openly supporting Mugabe's then arch-rival Joshua Nkomo to lead, opposition leader Dumiso Dabengwa has claimed. Tongogara, who was killed in a freak car accident a few weeks before Zimbabwe attained independence, had argued a Mugabe leadership would be a disaster, according to Dabengwa, a former minister in Mugabe's government.
