Govt Shuts Down Over 1, 000 Unlicensed Schools in Uganda

At least 1,132 private primary and secondary schools without licences in various parts of the country have been closed for not meeting minimun standards. The education ministry official says some of the closed school used curricula that was unknown to the ministry, lacked instructional materials, and some had no contracts for the land and buildings they occupied.
