In an article title, The Kenyan Cool Girl's Guide to Nairobi, Vogue Magazine featured some of Kenya's top creatives including filmmaker Wanuri Kahiu and lead characters of controversial lesbian film Rafiki, model Ajuma Nasanyana, stylist Annabel Onyango, fashion designers Anyango Mpinga, Diana Opoti and Katungulu Mwendwa along with musician Muthoni the Drama Queen.
