Clashes Between Hermanus Residents, Police at 'Volatile Point'

The South African Police Service has launced an operation to "quell the violence" in Zwelihle, Hermanus where an officer was assaulted and robbed of his shotgun. This comes after continued protests by residents demonstrating against the arrest of  local activist Gcobani Ndzongana who faces charges of malicious damage to property and incitement.
