Nigerian Shiite Leader's Supporters Acquitted of Protest Charges

The Kaduna State High Court has cleared at least 100 Shiite supporters of Ibrahim Zakzaky of criminal charges linked to a violent protest in 2015. The judge said that the state did not present enough evidence to go ahead with proceedings. Zakzaky, who is accused of orchestrating the attack, has been detained since 2015 despite court orders that he should be freed.
