Kenya's Deputy Chief Justice Embroiled in Alleged Graft Scandal

Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu has been released following her arrest outside the Supreme Court on August 28. Her arrest came minutes after a meeting of the Judicial Service Commission that was called over an ongoing probe into allegations of misconduct over cases involving Imperial Bank. The judge allegedly faces numerous counts of stealing, abuse of office and unlawful failure to pay taxes.
